Community Housing Assistant – 251492

Location: Barnet and North-East London. Permanent, full time (37.5 hpw). Salary £27,082 per annum (£13.85 per hour) plus benefits including a health cash plan.

Typical day as our Community Housing Assistant
  • Through visibility, engagement with customers and proactivity on our estates, you’ll really get to know our communities.
  • You’ll support our housing managers to look after their patches and help improve local neighbourhoods.
  • You’ll support with tasks such as managing voids processes, liaising with local authorities, conducting estate inspections, and engaging with contractors on site.
  • You’ll carry out and record routine safety and compliance checks in our buildings and communities.
  • You’ll manage admin, update records, and arrange payments for works to be done.
  • You’ll go home each day knowing you’ve helped change our customers’ lives for the better, in a Top Ten Great Places to Work in the UK.
You bring
  • A “can do” positive attitude, proactive and well organised, able to work on your initiative.
  • A real passion for delivering excellent customer service and a genuine desire to help customers.
  • Confidence working collaboratively with colleagues in other parts of the business and external partners
  • An understanding of housing management, housing law and universal credit would be ideal, but they’re not deal breakers
  • The ability to use technology to navigate our systems and update customer records
  • An appreciation that this is a role where you’ll spend much of your time lone working in our local estates

Job details

This is a hybrid role. In an average week you’ll spend 4 days working from our communities in Barnet and North London. Offices are in Rayners Lane, Harrow; Douglas Bader Park, Hendon; and Liverpool Street for you to work from.

We mainly work Monday to Friday and sometimes evenings to meet with customers. You’ll shape your own diary. To get from A to B you’ll need a vehicle insured for business purposes, and we’ll pay your mileage.

You’ll need a Standard DBS check done and we pay for that.
