Overview

We are looking to recruit a dynamic, motivated, and enthusiastic Healthcare Assistant who is passionate about delivering high-quality care within a community setting. This role offers an exciting opportunity to join the Adur Primary Care Network Community Team, supporting patients in their own homes and local community.

Target Candidate
  • Individuals seeking to start a career in healthcare.
  • Existing Band 3 Healthcare Assistants who wish to develop their clinical knowledge and practice within a community environment.
Skills & Experience

Community or healthcare experience is desirable but not essential, as full training will be provided. You will gain skills in:

  • Insulin administration
  • Wound care
  • Clinical observations
  • Catheter care
  • Venepuncture
Key Responsibilities
  • Undertake non‑complex clinical procedures under the guidance of senior team members, e.g. venepuncture, patient‑specific sub‑cutaneous injections, sample collection, blood pressure monitoring, medication management, wound care, catheter care and other tasks according to training and competencies.
  • Recognise their responsibility and accountability in accepting delegated tasks.
  • Empower patients to regain their health and independence in collaboration with other members of the multi‑professional team.
  • Liaise with clients, colleagues, family and other professionals to ensure integrated quality care is provided.
  • Keep accurate, timely records according to Trust policy.
  • Escalate and report patient progress/status on a shift‑by‑shift basis to senior team members.
  • Demonstrate flexibility and adaptability working across community teams according to service needs.
  • Commit to undertaking training and education to progress clinical skills as indicated by service development needs.
  • Respond effectively and actively to complaints and escalations following departmental policies.
  • Assist registered staff in care and treatment and participate in the review process.
  • Promote equality for all, including the maintenance of confidentiality, respecting individual customs, values and spiritual beliefs, and ensuring anti‑discriminatory practices are demonstrated.
