Job summary

A leading mental health charity in Northern Ireland is seeking a Community Bridge Builder in Newtownabbey. The role involves developing recovery support plans for individuals and helping them access community resources. Qualifications

  • NISCC Registration or eligible for registration.

Job description

Keenan Recruitment has been retained on behalf of a leading, independent mental health charity in Northern Ireland, to recruit for a Community Bridge Builder in Newtownabbey.

Location: Newtownabbey

Pay: £12.55 per hour

Contract: Full-time or part-time hours will be considered

Responsibilities
  • Work in partnership with the individual service user to develop recovery support plans based on individual needs and strengths.
  • Support the individual service user to implement their support plan based on the client outcomes framework. Support service users to realise their potential through accessing social spaces, such as leisure activities, local community and facilities, education, volunteering, employment, social networks, and local clubs. Support the individual to develop ways in which they can contribute to the local community and become active within their community.
  • Promote the service to professionals, carers, and users of the service.
  • Develop a Directory of local services for their specific area base.
  • Identify and process referrals by working in partnership with relevant agencies.
Qualifications & Requirements
  • Level 2 Essential Skills in Maths and English or GCSE Grade C or above in Maths and English.
  • Demonstrate a minimum of 6 months experience of providing support to people with a mental illness either in a paid or voluntary position.
  • OR demonstrate a minimum of 1 year’s experience of providing support in another care setting.
  • NISCC Registration or eligible to be registered from commencement of role.
  • Knowledge of the main mental health diagnoses and support available.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding principles.
