Job summary

A leading healthcare provider is seeking a COMMUNITY ADULT CONSULTANT PSYCHIATRIST in Harlow to provide mental health care as part of a multidisciplinary team. The role requires Full GMC registration and various qualifications related to mental health practice. The position offers a competitive salary range between £109,725 and £145,478 per annum, depending on experience, and requires participation in on-call duties.

Qualifications

  • Must have Full GMC registration with a licence to practice.
  • Must have CCT or equivalent certification.
  • Must have Section 12 Approval or eligibility.
  • Must have Approved Clinician status or eligibility.
  • Must be included, or eligible for inclusion, in the Specialist Register within 6 months of obtaining CCST.

Responsibilities

  • Work within multidisciplinary teams to care for adults with mental health needs.
  • Provide senior medical support and direct input on clinical cases.
  • Guide and supervise team members.
  • Directly interact with adults and their families, coordinating with external providers.
  • Participate in the on-call rota.
  • Support peers and be an effective team member.

Job responsibilities

You will be expected to:

  • Work as part of multidisciplinary teams providing care to adult people with mental health needs, across southern Havering
  • Provide senior medical support to the team, and direct input on clinical cases
  • Provide guidance and supervision to the team
  • Work directly with adults and their families and liaise as appropriate with other external adult mental health providers and acute hospitals
  • Participate in the on-call rota (frequency is 1:50, with a 3% of basic salary, Category A on-call supplement, pro-rata)
  • Support peers and the team leader, and be an effective team member while allowing others to work with their own initiative
  • Work alongside 1wte consultants, 1wte Specialist Doctor, and 1wte trainee doctor within the service
  • Commit to collaborative working, actively supporting and liaising with other health and social professionals, and agencies
