Term of Contract: Full time, fixed term (1 Dec 2025 – 31 st Oct 2028)

Responsible to: Common Ground Project Coordinator

Location: NIFHA Office, Citylink Business Park, Albert Street, Belfast, BT12 4HQ (hybrid working arrangements can be facilitated on agreement with Line Manager). Travel throughout N.Ireland and Border Counties of Republic of Ireland will be an essential part of this post.

THE COMMON GROUND PROJECT

The Common Ground project is a European Funded project under PEACEPLUS that focuses on promoting peace and reconciliation across/between NI/ROI communities including new and minority communities.

The project is focussed on creating inclusive, engaged communities through a social housing and neighbourhood lens, utilising the Housing Sector as a ‘community anchor’, building on existing networks, infrastructure, capacity and resources to deliver strong community interventions over a 36-month period.

The core purpose of the Common Ground Project is to develop and successfully deliver community integration and relationship building plans, initiatives, training and programmes. Common Ground will work towards supporting stronger, safer and more stable communities through the promotion of understanding, mutual respect and community participation.

  • Choice Housing Association
  • Rural Housing Association
  • Woven Housing Association

Job Purpose:

The Project Communications, Monitoring & Evaluation Officer will be responsible for designing and implementing monitoring and evaluation systems to assess the effectiveness and impact of the Common Ground project and will deliver an effective communications and PR service to the Common Ground Project, including supporting communications and PR for Project Partners and their range of project activities.

Key Objectives for the Project Communications, Monitoring & Evaluation Officer

The role of Project Communications, Monitoring & Evaluation Officer is a pivotal role within the Common Ground project. The Northern Ireland Federation of Housing Associations’ (NIFHA) is the lead partner of the project with seven delivery partners working within communities “on the ground” across NI and the 6 Border Counties of Rep of Ireland.

The key objectives are:

  • Deliver an effective communications and PR workplan for the Common Ground project and support project partners in implementing the plan
  • Deliver an effective and efficient monitoring and evaluation service to the Common Ground Project, capturing key data measurements directly relating to project objectives and targets
  • Provide professional and high quality supports to the project team, in delivering consistent comms, monitoring and evaluation outputs from the Common Ground project
