Job summary

A leading financial services organisation in the United Kingdom is seeking an experienced Commodities Business Analyst to join a front office aligned technology team. The role involves translating business requirements into high quality technical deliverables within an Agile environment. You will act as the primary interface between front office users and development teams, managing the full delivery lifecycle. Candidates should have substantial experience in the commodities domain and excellent communication skills.

Qualifications

• Experience working with multiple commodity classes such as Energy, Base Metals or Precious Metals.
• Sufficient technical knowledge to work closely with developers.
• Debugging skills are a strong plus.

Responsibilities

• Acting as the primary interface between front office users and development teams.
• Gathering, analysing and documenting business requirements.
• Driving solution design and promoting scalable, long term technical solutions.
• Managing testing, business sign off and production releases.
• Supporting and enhancing core commodities systems including pricing, market data, risk and reporting tools.
• Collaborating with global stakeholders across Front Office, Risk, Quants and IT.

Commodities Business Analyst

We are working with a leading financial services organisation seeking an experienced Commodities Business Analyst to join a front office aligned technology team. This is a hands on role acting as the bridge between trading, sales and structuring teams and IT delivery.

Role Overview

You will sit close to the front office, translating business requirements into high quality technical deliverables. The role covers the full delivery lifecycle, from requirements gathering through to testing, release and ongoing support, within an Agile environment.

What You Will Be Working On

• Acting as the primary interface between front office users and development teams
• Gathering, analysing and documenting business requirements
• Driving solution design and promoting scalable, long term technical solutions
• Managing testing, business sign off and production releases
• Supporting and enhancing core commodities systems including pricing, market data, risk and reporting tools
• Working across the full proximity development lifecycle including analysis, delivery and support
• Collaborating with global stakeholders across Front Office, Risk, Quants and IT

Must Have Skills and Experience

• Extensive / senior level experience as a Business Analyst with commodities domain knowledge
• Good understanding of pricing / risk within commodities
• Open to multiple commodity classes such as Energy, Base Metals or Precious Metals
• Strong Agile delivery experience
• Sufficient technical knowledge to work closely with developers. Debugging skills are a strong plus
• Experience with technologies such as C#, SQL, microservices or Murex is beneficial
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills

Working Arrangements

• 4 days per week onsite in city of London
