Role: Committee Member (volunteer position)

Location: Wiltshire (mainly remote working)

Start Date: Autumn/ winter 2025

About Families Out Loud

Families Out Loud (FOL) is a growing Wiltshire-based charity that supports families affected by a loved one’s drug or alcohol use. We provide non-judgmental, stigma-free spaces for people to speak out, connect, and heal. As we expand our reach and deepen our impact, we are expanding the management committee to ensure continued support for operational matters.

About the role

As a FOL committee member, you will share our passion of supporting families affected by addiction. You will be committed to the Purpose, Vision and Values of FOL, gain a good understanding of the organisation and be prepared to share your views. As well as attending monthly online committee meetings, you will get involved in some of these activities:

  • Organise and / or participate on craft stalls & other events around Wiltshire
  • Help to manage our handmade stock items
  • Communicate and liaise with organisations such as GP surgeries, community centres, libraries etc to tell them about the charity
  • Distribute flyers in your own area
  • Help out with admin tasks
  • Do anything else that needs to be done

What we are looking for

For this position, we’re looking for someone living in or around Wiltshire who can help us facilitate growth, particularly in your own locality. Ideally, you’ll have a deep understanding of your community and its unique needs, bringing strong connections from within the area. You’ll represent the charity in local networks and form lasting relationships that will increase our profile.
