We are looking for a Commissioning Manager to work on a 12 month contract in Glasgow/Hybrid.
Rate is c£70-80 Umbrella per hour/PAYE Equivalent.
Our client is looking for someone who has experience of working on a nuclear site.
Key Responsibilities for the Commissioning Manager
- Proactively initiate and develop acceptance and commissioning strategies, ensuring these are embedded across governance and delivery activities to meet programme objectives and relevant Asset Management and Safety Management Arrangements.
- Collaborate with design and engineering teams to ensure early design development reflects the anticipated commissioning strategy, reducing the risk of future operational issues.
- Review design drawings, specifications, and schedules to confirm alignment with commissioning requirements, ensuring systems are designed for testability, maintainability, and performance verification.
- Research, compile, and author technical documentation to support acceptance and commissioning activities and deliverables.
- Act as a central point of contact between the customer, engineering teams, and acceptance and commissioning stakeholders to ensure effective integration of new works with existing infrastructure.
- Chair meetings and workshops related to acceptance and commissioning activities.
- Contribute to hold point control strategies and associated documentation.
- Support the development of integrated schedules for acceptance and commissioning activities, including requirements, milestones, and deliverables.
- Identify potential risks, assumptions, issues, dependencies, and opportunities (RAIDO) associated with acceptance and commissioning processes, and develop appropriate mitigation and opportunity strategies.
- Support procurement activities by providing advice on acceptance and commissioning-related technical specifications.
- (Future, TBC) Provide leadership, direction, and supervision to a team of Commissioning Engineers, including line management responsibilities alongside technical leadership.
Essential Skills and Experience for the Commissioning Manager
- Minimum of 10 years' experience in a technical role, with demonstrable experience as a Commissioning Manager or in a similar position.
- Experience working within a nuclear regulated environment, with strong knowledge of commissioning requirements, including risk management and quality assurance.
- Proven ability to interpret and produce technical documentation such as drawings, reports, plans, and specifications.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to work effectively within a team and independently as required.
- Experience working with, or a strong understanding of, Defence Lines of Development (DLoDs).
- Highly organised approach, with the ability to establish, monitor, and achieve deadlines across multiple contributors.
