We’re looking for a Commissioning Engineer to join our Rail Systems team. Reporting to the SISS Project Manager, this is a field-based role requiring autonomy and flexibility. You’ll support the successful delivery of rail infrastructure projects across the UK, involving commissioning, system testing, site surveys, installations, maintenance, and technical support.

Carry out commissioning of the following sub-systems:
Customer Information Displays
Long Line Public Address (LLPA)
Public Help Points (PHPs)
CCTV / Video Surveillance Systems
Conduct on-site surveys, inspections, and in-house commissioning
Implement engineering designs during the construction phase
Travel nationwide to support project sites, often working away from home
Liaise with project managers and procurement for project coordination
Produce GRIP 6-8 documentation:
Commissioning Checklists
Site Acceptance Tests (SATs)
Operations & Maintenance Manuals
Support GRIP 4-5 design activities including:
Detailed Designs
Schematics
Cable Schedules
Bill of Materials
Contribute to the production of CCTV JVSG models
Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues on-site
Collaborate with clients, subcontractors, and engineering teams to ensure project success
Electrical/Technical Engineering qualification (HNC, HND, BTEC, or equivalent)
Strong computing skills and IT literacy
Understanding of IP and serial network infrastructures
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and schematics
Knowledge of Rail telecoms is a plus
Experience with JVSG or similar CCTV design software advantageous
IPAF license (desirable)
Personal Track Safety (PTS) (desirable)
Full, clean UK driving licence (essential)
Self-motivated, adaptable, and proactive
Strong problem-solving skills and a methodical approach
Excellent organisational and administrative skills
Strong written and verbal communication abilities
Able to work independently or as part of a team
Comfortable with nationwide travel and working away from home

37.5 hours/week
Flexible schedule between 07:00 – 18:00, Monday to Friday
Core hours:
Monday–Thursday: 09:00 – 16:00
Friday: 09:00 – 12:00
Lunch Break: 12:00 – 12:30
