About the Role

We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Specification Sales Manager to join our team. This role is pivotal in driving revenue growth through strategic specification development and building strong relationships across the construction industry.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement sales strategies to achieve revenue growth within your assigned area.
  • Build and maintain an opportunity pipeline by targeting Main Contractors and M&E Subcontractors.
  • Create end‑customer specifications with medium/large plumbing and M&E contractors, securing tender documents and specifications.
  • Collaborate with M&E contractors to provide specification solutions, resolve challenges, and influence specifications where possible.
  • Act as a brand ambassador, fostering long‑term business relationships.
  • Identify and create new specification opportunities across the full RWC product range, driving new customer acquisition.
  • Communicate product specifications internally and externally to ensure a seamless offer.
  • Monitor competitor products and activities, providing feedback and insights.
  • Offer technical support to customers and escalate complex queries to internal teams when necessary.
  • Maintain accurate project and opportunity data in the CRM (SFDC), including meeting notes, strategies, and forecasts.
  • Work closely with CAD teams to ensure efficient delivery of design requirements.
  • Collaborate with Area Sales Managers to ensure specifications are met and stock availability aligns with build programs.
  • Target consultants within your area to deliver accredited training and CPD seminars, securing product specifications.
  • Maximize specification opportunities using Barbour ABI, trade publications, BIM store, and event leads.
  • Strengthen relationships with key merchant distributors (e.g., WUK, BSS, TP, TGL, SBS, Oliver Ashworth) to generate leads and enhance sales opportunities.
  • Stay informed on relevant building regulations and capture insights within the CRM.
  • Achieve targets and KPIs aligned with company objectives.
  • Host customers at events, deliver accredited training, and contribute to achieving sales budgets through data analysis.
  • Network at sector exhibitions to generate leads.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Deliver pipeline budgets consistently.
About You
  • Proven experience in specification sales within the construction or building services sector.
  • Strong understanding of M&E contractors and merchant distribution networks.
  • Excellent relationship‑building and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage projects from inception to completion using CRM systems.
  • Knowledge of building regulations and industry standards.
  • Self‑motivated with a track record of achieving sales targets.
