Job summary

A leading legal firm in the United Kingdom is seeking an experienced Commercial Solicitor to provide legal advice on corporate matters, including contracts, M&A, and transaction support. The ideal candidate will be a qualified lawyer with experience in commercial and corporate law, preferably in the energy or utilities sector. Qualifications

  • Qualified lawyer with experience in Energy or Utilities sector preferred.
  • Confident solicitor with commercial and/or corporate law experience.
  • Experience working on complex projects, ideally energy-related.

  • Draft and negotiate commercial agreements for complex projects.
  • Manage relationships and guide junior lawyers in the team.

Job description
Responsibilities
  • Working collaboratively and providing legal advice and support to various senior stakeholders on commercial and corporate matters such as general contracts, M&A, JVs and transactional support
  • Drafting and negotiating commercial agreements on complex projects
  • Support tending opportunities
  • Advising the business on legal and regulatory obligations providing input into the internal governance and regulatory processes
  • Gain a clear understanding of strategic priorities and assist in ensuring these are delivered
  • Build and maintain good business relationships
  • Depending on your seniority you may manage other more junior lawyers in the team and engage and manage external counsel
We are looking for
  • Qualified lawyer in either Scotland, England and Wales or Ireland
  • Trained with a well-regarded law firm or in-house preferably with knowledge of the energy or utilities sector
  • Confident solicitor with Commercial and /or Corporate law experience
  • Experience working on complex projects, ideally some exposure of energy projects
