Join a leading pharmaceutical and nutraceutical CDMO as a Commercial Product Analyst and play a pivotal role in developing, maintaining, and optimising pricing strategies across their entire product and service portfolio. This role bridges commercial, finance, production, and procurement teams to ensure pricing is accurate, competitive, and profitable.
You’ll support the full pricing process—from quote generation and financial modelling to post-launch analysis—providing vital insights to sales and leadership. This is a high-impact position with opportunities to influence strategic decisions and drive business growth.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain pricing models and tools that reflect true cost-to-serve and margin requirements.
- Prepare and review customer quotes and tenders, ensuring alignment with internal costings and strategic pricing guidelines.
- Collaborate with Sales, Production, Procurement, and Technical teams to gather accurate cost data (raw materials, labour, packaging, overheads).
- Analyse pricing performance by customer, product line, and market segment to identify profitability trends and optimisation opportunities.
- Monitor industry trends, competitor pricing, and market dynamics to support strategic pricing decisions.
- Ensure pricing structures comply with regulatory requirements and customer agreements.
- Support new product introduction (NPI) pricing models and financial viability assessments.
- Provide insights for commercial negotiations and contract renewals.
- Lead pricing governance processes, including documentation, version control, and audit trails.
- Produce regular pricing reports and dashboards for internal stakeholders, highlighting risks and opportunities.
Qualifications
- 5+ years’ experience in pricing, commercial finance, product costing, or margin analysis—within pharmaceutical, nutraceutical, FMCG, or CDMO environments.
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics, or a related field.
- Professional qualification (or part-qualified) such as CIMA, ACCA, or ACA is highly desirable.
- Strong understanding of cost accounting, margin analysis, and financial modelling.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (advanced formulas, pivot tables, financial modelling).
- Familiarity with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, NetSuite, Dynamics) and pricing/quoting tools.
- Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Commercial acumen and understanding of margin management.
- Experience collaborating cross-functionally with sales, finance, and production teams.
- Knowledge of cost accounting, product BOMs, and manufacturing processes is highly desirable.
- Strong organisational and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
