Job summary

A growing main contractor is seeking an experienced Commercial Manager or Senior Quantity Surveyor to lead commercial delivery across various projects. The role includes managing procurement, overseeing contract administration, and producing commercial reports. Ideal candidates will have a strong background in construction, especially with JCT contracts, and possess excellent negotiation skills. This position is based in the North West with regional travel involved.

Qualifications

• Background as a Commercial Manager or Senior QS within construction, ideally main contracting.
• Strong understanding of JCT contracts, procurement routes and commercial controls.
• Proven experience managing commercial delivery on multi-discipline commercial builds.

• Lead cost planning, tendering, budgeting and commercial strategy from pre-construction through to completion.
• Manage procurement, subcontractor selection, contract administration and negotiation.

A growing main contractor is looking to appoint an experienced Commercial Manager or Senior Quantity Surveyor to lead commercial delivery across a portfolio of commercial and mixed use projects. The business delivers design to handover schemes with a focus on quality, repeat clients and long term partnerships.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead cost planning, tendering, budgeting and commercial strategy from pre-construction through to completion
• Manage procurement, subcontractor selection, contract administration and negotiation
• Oversee valuations, variations, change control, cost reporting and final accounts
• Support delivery teams with commercial governance, risk management and profitability control
• Produce accurate commercial reports, cash flow forecasts and recommendations for senior leadership
• Build strong relationships with clients, consultants, subcontractors and internal stakeholders
