Overview

Commercial Manager (MEICA) – Middlesbrough (Hybrid). A MEICA (mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, control & automation) design & build contractor with three offices nationwide, undertaking works across the UK. Turnover in 2021 was circa £10 million. The role focuses on project controls with an emphasis on teamwork and change management, working autonomously to implement the company 0s project controls & administration strategy, aiming for on time and on budget delivery within the existing quality assurance and environmental management systems.

Responsibilities
  • Undertake quantity surveying duties for projects the company secures.
  • Ensure the correct administration of the contracts the company undertakes.
  • Ensure that programmes are maintained and submitted in accordance with the contract.
  • Ensure the timely submission of cost, forecast and valuation data to seniors.
  • Understand and implement QA policies of the company.
  • Undertake general and contractual administration for the company.
  • Represent the company in a professional and diligent manner at all times.
  • Establish and maintain strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders, design team, authorities, utilities and associated organisations.
  • Represent the company to senior managers of client organisations.
  • Have good knowledge of relevant legislation, standards, regulations, guides and good practice.
  • Be aware of and comply with relevant procedures and standards.
  • Contribute and assist, as required by the board of directors.
Requirements
  • A degree in Quantity Surveying or similar.
  • Some experience in project controls (desirable).
  • Ability to work as part of a team.
  • Mentoring and sharing knowledge with colleagues.
  • Fluent in English (written and spoken).
  • Professional communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, leadership and teamwork.
  • Ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines with initiative and independence.
  • Flexible and open attitude towards new ways of working and commitment to lifelong learning.

Salary: 85k + car allowance or scheme.
