Role: Contract Manager - Aerospace / Defence Sector

Location: Denham, UK

Salary: £50,000 + Benefits

We are looking for a Contract Manager to strengthen our Commercial function and support delivery across a range of customer accounts. We are looking for people who enjoy working with complex contracts, have strong professional commitment, and want to contribute to engineering solutions that make a difference worldwide. The position involves great responsibility and the ability to plan, lead, and structure challenging contracts and programmes across technical disciplines.

The Client

This role is with a British engineering firm that has a global impact, delivering advanced aerospace technology. We design and deliver complex mechanical projects that support both civil and military aviation, ensuring reliability, safety, and performance across every programme.

You

To be successful in this role, you should have the following attributes:

  • Knowledge of commercial and contract processes within the aerospace/defence sector, including procurement practices, contractual terms and conditions, bid management and pricing techniques, guarantees, banking instruments, export control and shipping terms.
  • Experience in contract negotiation processes across the India region.
  • Strong customer liaison and relationship expertise.
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills.
  • People management skills, with the ability to coach and drive successful outcomes.
  • Attention to detail, with a commitment to the highest standards.
The Role

Key responsibilities are:

  • Full responsibility for a portfolio of customer contracts across product teams.
  • Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating contract terms and conditions.
  • Supporting clients in defining project objectives and proposals.
  • Managing programme schedules, deliverables, and obligations.
  • Preparing statements of work, coordinating resource requirements and cost data.
  • Conducting complex negotiations with customers and suppliers.
  • Providing updates to customers and coordinating internal teams.
  • Building relationships with clients, suppliers, and stakeholders across the UK and India.
