Commercial Manager, Castleford

Company profile: You will be working for one of the UK's premier providers of M&E Building Services Solutions. An M&E specialist, for over 20 years they have been delivering complex mechanical and electrical installations across diverse sectors, handling design, installation, commissioning, and lifecycle support.

With an impressive client book of national organisations, and projects across the UK spanning commercial, industrial, and infrastructure sectors, they are now looking for a Commercial Manager to join them on their journey.

You would be responsible for leading all commercial, contractual, and financial activities across their M&E project portfolio, while managing and developing a team of Quantity Surveyors.

Hybrid role, with regular travel to project sites. Competitive package on offer.

Responsibilities
  • Lead all commercial activities for the M&E division, from tender stage through to final accounts, while identifying commercial risks and opportunities early.
  • Manage and develop a team of M&E Quantity Surveyors, ensuring effective workload allocation, performance management, and adherence to commercial best practice.
  • Source and negotiate subcontractor and supplier agreements, ensuring value, compliance and risk mitigation, while reviewing contract documentation for accuracy and governance.
  • Drive commercial processes, reporting structures, and continuous improvement initiatives across the function.
Necessary experience
  • Minimum 8 years' commercial experience within construction or M&E sectors, ideally with a main contractor, fit-out contractor or building services specialist.
  • Strong working knowledge of JCT and NEC contracts, with exposure to dispute resolution and claims handling.
  • Proven experience leading and managing a commercial team within an M&E or technical delivery environment.
