Commercial Manager - Cambridge - Hybrid Working

Are you an experienced Commercial Manager with a civil engineering background looking for your next opportunity? This is an excellent chance to join a well-established civil engineering and multi-utilities contractor, where you will take a leading role in delivering projects across the Civil, Power, Water and Telecommunications sectors.

Responsibilities
  • Lead the commercial function across multiple civil engineering and utilities projects
  • Manage contracts (with a focus on NEC) and ensure full compliance with contractual and commercial obligations
  • Prepare, monitor, and report on budgets, forecasts, and financial performance
  • Negotiate and manage relationships with clients, subcontractors, and stakeholders
  • Provide expert commercial advice and support to project teams to maximise value and efficiency
  • Identify risks, opportunities, and innovative approaches to add value
  • Mentor and support junior staff within the commercial function
Qualifications
  • At least 5 years' experience in a commercial management role within civil engineering or utilities
  • Strong knowledge and practical experience of NEC contracts
  • Excellent financial, analytical, and negotiation skills
  • A collaborative, team-oriented approach
