Senior Associate - Commercial Litigation

Leading UK Law Firm | Cardiff | Competitive Salary & Career Progression

A leading UK law firm, based in Cardiff, is seeking an experienced Senior Associate in Commercial Litigation to join their highly regarded Dispute Resolution team. With a dynamic and collaborative work culture, this role offers an exciting opportunity for an individual with over six years of post-qualification experience (PQE) to take on significant responsibility, handle complex high-value disputes, and contribute to the firm's strategic growth.

The firm is renowned for its top-tier legal advice, providing services to a diverse client base that includes multinational corporations, financial institutions, SMEs, start-ups, and high-net-worth individuals. Their Dispute Resolution team is highly respected, offering expertise across a broad range of commercial disputes, and the Senior Associate will play a central role in its continued success and growth.

In this role, the successful candidate will be responsible for advising clients on a wide range of commercial disputes, including contractual issues, shareholder and corporate conflicts, professional negligence, fraud, and regulatory matters. You will lead litigation, arbitration, and alternative dispute resolution (ADR) processes, managing cases from inception through to resolution. This involves drafting and reviewing legal documents, ensuring a high standard of technical accuracy, and providing strategic risk management advice tailored to clients' needs.

A key aspect of the position is mentoring and supervising junior associates. The firm values a collaborative approach, and as a Senior Associate, you will be instrumental in fostering a supportive environment, helping junior lawyers develop their skills and careers. Additionally, you will be encouraged to contribute to the firm's business development efforts, working to expand the client base and enhance the firm's profile in the market.

The ideal candidate will bring over six years of PQE in commercial litigation, with a strong technical background in handling high-value, multi-jurisdictional disputes. Experience in international arbitration will be considered an advantage. You should possess strong negotiation and ADR skills, coupled with a client-focused approach that prioritizes delivering practical, business-oriented legal advice. Leadership and mentoring capabilities are essential, as the firm looks for someone who can guide and inspire junior team members while also contributing to the strategic direction of the litigation team.

In return, the firm offers competitive remuneration, including a salary and bonus package, alongside flexible hybrid working arrangements. There is a clear pathway for career progression, with ample opportunities to further develop leadership and business development skills. This is an exceptional opportunity for a Senior Associate to take on a key role within a high-performing team, gaining exposure to prestigious clients and complex legal matters.
If you're looking for a challenging and rewarding role that offers both professional growth and the opportunity to make a significant impact, this position presents an exciting career opportunity. Interested candidates are encouraged to reach out to the firm's recruitment team for a confidential discussion.
