Associate – Commercial Litigation | London

The Role

William James Recruitment has been instructed on an opportunity with a leading international law firm whose Commercial Litigation team is ranked Tier 1 in Legal 500 (London).

The London team advises on a wide range of complex, high-value disputes, often with a significant international dimension. Matters include contractual and shareholder disputes, contested share purchase agreements, corporate control issues, fraud and asset tracing, professional negligence, insolvency-related litigation, financial services disputes, technology and intellectual property matters, crypto asset recovery, and reputation management.

The practice is particularly well regarded for securing urgent interim remedies, including freezing injunctions, search orders, and asset recovery measures. The team also advises on emerging and evolving risk areas, such as ESG and climate-related claims, greenwashing allegations, cybercrime, and AI and data theft.

Clients include corporates across the financial services, energy, technology, transport, telecoms, and healthcare sectors, as well as governmental bodies and high-net-worth individuals. The team works closely with colleagues across the firm and leverages a strong international network to deliver coordinated, cross-border litigation.

The Candidate

• Qualified solicitor with 4–6 years’ PQE in commercial litigation at a comparable firm
• Strong academic background (2 : 1 or equivalent from a leading university)
• Experience managing complex disputes, ideally with cross-border elements
• Excellent technical knowledge of litigation, arbitration, and ADR
• Commercially focused with strong drafting, negotiation, and communication skills
• Committed to delivering high-quality client service and contributing to business development
