£41,818.21

Job Description:

We are seeking a dedicated Commercial Gas Engineer to join our team at HMP Highpoint, a category C adult/male prison. Join a supportive team committed to maintaining a safe and secure environment for prisoners, staff, and visitors.

The Facilities Maintenance Team ensures the smooth operation of the facility, impacting the wider community. As an Engineer - Combustion, you will work alongside experienced colleagues including Plumbers, Electricians, Carpenters, Painters, Cleaners, and Administrators, all dedicated to making a positive difference.

Responsibilities:
  1. Work as a combustion engineer ensuring compliance with safety standards.
  2. Maintain and repair heating and gas systems in accordance with regulations.
  3. Ensure safety and operational standards are met, including Water Supply Regulation and Legionella control.
  4. Work with commercial catering gas appliances (preferred).
Qualifications and Experience:
  1. At least two years of experience as a heating or combustion engineer or similar role.
  2. Familiarity with Water Supply Regulation and Legionella control.
  3. Knowledge of Gas Safe regulations 1998 and industry standards.
  4. Qualifications: C&G 6035 or 6189, NVQ Level 3 in Plumbing or equivalent, CCN1, COCN1.
  5. Good health and safety knowledge.
  6. Excellent organizational and people skills.
