Job description
Overview

Practice Innovation Lead (Commercial Disputes), Leeds

We are working with a top tier international firm in Leeds with an enviable Disputes Group on an opportunity that is a bit different from the norm.

This is for Commercial Disputes Lawyers (or allied dispute areas in the commercial sphere) who may be looking to move away from a fee earning role, and are interested in working with lawyers to support them in further developing efficiencies in their work through the adoption of ever-evolving legal tech and innovation.

Responsibilities
  • Bridge the gap between the Lawyers in the Disputes Group and the Innovation and Legal Technology Team, which is responsible for building and developing the legal tech improvements from a technical perspective.
  • Collaborate with lawyers to identify pain points and scope out areas for improvement; run training sessions to boost adoption of legal tech; manage and deliver on process improvement initiatives that help eliminate inefficiencies; provide hands-on support in embedding innovation into legal processes.
  • Engagement and relationship building, training, adoption & change management, data & reporting and cross-pillar collaboration.
Qualifications & Experience
  • You are not expected to be a technical expert in legal tech and innovation; rather a lawyer experienced in disputes and very familiar with the legal processes involved in running weighty complex matters from beginning to end, and the process efficiency challenges that brings.
  • Familiarity with legal tech from a use standpoint is helpful; experience of working in a large, forward-thinking firm is desirable.
  • Commercial (or associated areas) litigator with upwards of 4 or 5 years' PQE, and an interest in moving away from fee earning (or already done so). Full-time and part-time options are available.
