A prominent aerospace engineering business in Wolverhampton seeks an experienced CNC Turner to operate various CNC lathes. This permanent day shift role requires expertise in multi axis machining and the ability to interpret complex drawings. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in CNC operations and a passion for quality and process improvement. Competitive salary of £40,500 plus overtime is offered.

Overview

CNC Turner (Day Shift) – Wolverhampton – Aerospace – Permanent (37 hour week) – Salary: £40,500 + Overtime

The Role - CNC Turner

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced CNC Turner with expertise in multi axis high precision environments to join a prominent aerospace engineering business in the Wolverhampton area.

You will be working on a permanent day shift and be operating a range of machinery including Okuma, Hitachi, STAR and Citizen lathes.

Most importantly you'll need to be technically minded with ability to understand complex drawings to undertake setting, operating and editing programs for one of parts to support the repairs section of the business.

Responsibilities
  • Operate CNC lathes with a variety of materials.
  • Set up and use machine tools with confidence and precision.
  • Programme editing for one off parts creation.
  • Utilising a range of machines inducing Okuma and Hitachi.
  • Perform first-off inspections and complete quality documentation.
  • Leverage your machine shop experience to deliver top-quality results.
  • Use precision measurement equipment to ensure accuracy.
Background / Qualifications
  • Apprentice trained in a manufacturing or engineering related discipline or suitable qualifications
  • Ability to interpret complex drawings to support CNC job set-up.
  • Strong CNC multi axis lathe experience
  • Background using Fanuc, Mitsubishi or Siemens controls.
  • Strong knowledge of machining techniques and tools.
  • Keen attention to detail and a passion for process improvement.
  • Ability to use inspection techniques to meet drawing tolerances.
