Overview

An exciting opportunity for applicants with a background in CMM Operation and/or Programming to join a growing business based near Barnoldswick, Lancashire. A leading manufacturer of precision-engineered components based near Barnoldswick is recruiting a CMM Operator / Programmer to join their CMM & Quality team. This is a full-time, permanent on-site role with a starting salary of £38,000 - £42,000 p/a, plus training and development opportunities in metrology and CMM programming.

Responsibilities
  • Develop best practice measurement programmes using PC-DMIS software to streamline workflows and enhance data analysis for complex components.
  • Optimise metrology processes by applying first-principles inspection techniques to improve accuracy and efficiency.
  • Oversee operation and maintenance of newly acquired Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMMs), ensuring calibration and usage aligns with quality standards.
  • Design and implement nesting solutions for parts to maximise material usage and boost production throughput with quick-load mechanisms.
  • Establish robust quality control measures to ensure compliance with relevant industry regulations, standards, and best practices.
  • Collaborate with engineering, production, and quality assurance teams to support product development and manufacturing from concept through delivery.
  • Act as a subject matter expert on metrology, providing guidance and technical support to cross-functional teams.
  • Identify deviations in measurement data promptly and implement corrective actions to maintain product integrity.
  • Drive continuous improvement by analysing process performance data and recommending procedural enhancements.
  • Support the training and development of colleagues in metrology techniques across departments.
Qualifications

  • Proficiency in operating and programming CMMs, ideally with hands-on PC-DMIS experience.
