Job description

Black Cat Recruitment are currently working in partnership with the CK Quality Group in Coventry on a large recruitment campaign for Europe's Europe’s leading automotive lighting manufacturer for the prestige & super-carmarket.

Due to significant investment in personnel, processes and plant in 2020, there are opportunities for an experienced, driven and committed CMM Operator to join their team on a permanent PM shift.

Role outline:

Performing measurements using a CMM or 3D scanners as directed by the Metrology Manager on either full assemblies or on plastic-moulded parts and related sub-assemblies.

Responsibilities for this Metrology Technician position will include:

  • Operating CMM & 3D Scanning equipment and reporting on their output
  • Ensuring all programmes are run without errors and all reports are issued in a timely manner
  • Giving advice on measurement related activities
  • Reviewing proper operation of the equipment
  • Correct any faults with the running of the programmes as required
  • Calibration of measurement equipment at defined frequency
  • Measure parts as per the issued schedule
  • Delivery the report by suitable means to the relevant person or department / section
  • Return all measured parts to the person requesting measurement
  • Carry out relevant housekeeping duties to ensure working areas are clean, tidy and hazard-free at all times
  • Liaise with Quality Assurance engineers on any serial parts out of specification
  • Working at all times to comply with the Company’s health & safety policy

In carrying out these duties and responsibilities, the successful applicant/s will be fully supported by the Management team and the Quality Department.

Experience required:

  • Previous experience of working in a similar role within the automotive industry is essential
  • Previous experience of running CMM and 3D scanning equipment is essential
  • Any experience of using PC-DMIS software would be beneficial although not essential
  • A background of working with plastic-moulded parts or similar would be beneficial
