The ideal candidate will produce high-quality journalism across digital and print, maintain strong relationships within the club, and engage with fans effectively. As an Arsenal reporter your main focus will be on The Gunners but you will also be responsible for coverage of other football clubs ensuring 360 reporting across the leagues. This role is ideal for a journalist with in-depth knowledge of their chosen club and a passion for delivering exclusive high-quality content that engages fans and drives audience growth in a digital-first environment.
As a Club Reporter you will reporting to the Club Editor own your club ensuring comprehensive coverage of all aspects of its activities. From breaking news and scouting reports to youth academy updates and exclusive interviews you will deliver written video and audio content that keeps fans informed and engaged. You will also be responsible for producing exclusive content for Sun Club providing unique insights into your clubs inner workings and hitting key performance indicators (KPIs).
This position requires a proactive multi-media journalist who has and can cultivate new strong relationships within the club and produce original impactful content across digital and print platforms.
Reporting to Head of Content and Deputy Heads of Content work closely with the newsdesk senior reporters and other club reporters to align with editorial priorities.
Collaborate with colleagues across other sports beats to ensure well-rounded coverage of the football landscape.
Tailor content to digital-first strategies ensuring it is visually appealing shareable and SEO-friendly. Be engaged and interact with fans fan groups podcasts to ensure SunSport is at the centre of the conversation.
