Overview

We\'re looking for a Cloud Manager to join our team at NHS Shared Business Services (NHS SBS). This is a hybrid role based in Leeds, with a requirement to be in the office 2-3 times per week. The role focuses on maturing and optimising our secure, scalable cloud capability that underpins critical NHS services, driving innovation, governance, and operational excellence across SaaS, PaaS, and IaaS platforms. You\'ll work with IT and business leaders to refine our cloud roadmap, embed best practices, and ensure compliance with security and regulatory standards.

What you\'ll be doing

• Work with the Head of Cloud Platforms to define and implement the cloud operating model, including standards, patterns, and lifecycle management processes.
• Embed governance frameworks aligned with security, finance, risk, and architecture standards.
• Drive maturity and optimisation of cloud-native services while managing legacy dependencies.
• Lead strategic planning and evolve the Cloud Platforms roadmap for scalability and agility.
• Integrate security and compliance by design across all cloud services.
• Establish cost transparency and optimisation mechanisms using FinOps principles.

What you\'ll bring

• In-depth knowledge of Oracle Cloud and Azure.
• Strong experience in cloud architecture and operations, with leadership capability and experience managing established cloud environments at scale.
• Solid understanding of cloud security, compliance, and governance frameworks.
• Experience implementing FinOps practices and driving cost optimisation.
• Familiarity with hybrid environments and integration with on-premise infrastructure.

Nice to have

• Experience in business process services, BPO, or managed service provider contexts.
• Knowledge of IT service management (e.g., ITIL) and cloud service lifecycle management.
• Exposure to enterprise architecture or application modernisation projects.
