What You’ll Be Doing
- Designing, deploying, and managing cloud services across hybrid environments with scalability, resilience, and cost in mind.
- Implementing automated security controls, access policies, scripting, and CI/CD processes.
- Building and maintaining disaster recovery and business continuity solutions, including automated failover and backup validation.
- Setting up and managing automated security scanning tools and integrating them with the Power Platform where needed.
- Ensuring governance and compliance through policies, tagging standards, and automated reporting.
- Performing routine health checks using monitoring tools and dashboards to keep environments running smoothly.
- Supporting virtual machines and containerised workloads through automated patching, drift management, and performance tuning.
- Assisting cloud migration projects, shaping future‑state architectures, and championing automation‑first principles.
- Contributing to cloud strategy, adopting Azure/AWS services, and enhancing Power Platform capabilities.
- Continuously optimising infrastructure performance through scaling, tuning, and lifecycle management.
- Supporting IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS environments, and integrating these with Power Apps for workflows and self‑service tooling.
- Building strong working relationships across delivery teams, QA, development, business analysis, and operational teams.
- Engaging business stakeholders to secure the right input throughout project lifecycles.
- Coordinating with third parties to support delivery of technical tasks.
- Communicating technical concepts clearly and confidently to non‑technical audiences.
- Supporting FinOps processes, IT estimates, and budget reporting.
- Working with the Cloud Platform team to ensure governance gates are followed and funding aligned to the agreed budget.
- Sharing knowledge across the team and supporting skills development.
- Conducting peer reviews and supporting improvements to IT working practices.
- Mentoring junior engineers and helping onboard new starters.
- Supporting quality checks and contributing to the mobilisation of infrastructure initiatives.
Essential Skills & Experience
- Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate (AZ‑104) or above.
- Strong understanding of cloud management principles and IT architectures.
- Hands‑on experience managing both private and public cloud environments.
- Solid grasp of DevOps practices and automation tooling.
- Experience delivering multiple cloud projects or portfolios.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate technical detail into business‑friendly language.
- Confident, influential presentation and stakeholder skills.
