Overview

Our client—a leading FTSE 250 organisation—is modernising under a visionary new CIO, and we’re looking for a Global Lead Azure Cloud Engineer to drive the evolution of their hybrid cloud ecosystem across on‑premise, public, private, and multi‑cloud environments.


Roles & Responsibilities


  • Lead global Cloud & Infrastructure service delivery across regions

  • Define and execute the hybrid hosting strategy spanning on‑prem, cloud, and SaaS

  • Drive automation, CI/CD adoption, and cloud cost optimisation

  • Manage global vendors and third‑party partners

  • Ensure operational excellence, compliance, and security across all platforms

  • Lead long‑term planning, capacity management, and resource allocation

  • Improve service availability, reduce incidents, and enhance performance

  • Own and deliver infrastructure changes on time, on budget, and to exceptional quality standards


Essential Skills & Experience


  • Proven experience managing Cloud, On‑Premise, and SaaS/IaaS environments (Azure highly preferred)

  • Strong leadership capability within Infrastructure or Cloud teams

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills

  • Demonstrated experience managing third‑party vendors and partners

  • Ability to translate strategic direction into actionable long‑term plans

  • Experience in global or matrixed organisations strongly desirable
