Overview

About the Home... Welcome to Gorton Parks Care Home in Manchester, where our dedicated care team provide high-quality care for Residents. We’re lucky to be situated in peaceful Gorton, close to the monastery, but just a couple of miles from Manchester City centre. With easy access from the M60 and plenty of public transport links, it’s fuss-free to get to us.

The care we provide is person-centred, which means that we look after every aspect of a Resident’s wellbeing – including their emotional, spiritual and nutritional needs. In our warm, friendly Home, we support Residents with many different care needs, including people living with dementia, Parkinson’s and other complex needs.

About the Role

For this role you will be required to co-ordinate the daily, operational running of assigned houses across the care home site; ensuring that care is delivered in line with care plans and the changing needs of residents. Where required, you will actively lead shifts ensuring that the home is adequately staffed and care is delivered as planned. You will actively contribute to the overall compliance and to follow policy and procedures. You will also actively support in upskilling nurses and their practices whilst ensuring the clinical and non-clinical KPIs are monitored and measured.

Key Responsibilities
  • To support staff to deliver care in line with Advinia’s care principles and values alongside resident’s care plans, by promoting personal choice and independence whilst ensuring that residents receive the highest standards of personal care and attention appropriate to their needs.
  • To support the person leading the shift, in each unit, in completing their role and co-ordinate support between the units as required.
  • To support with medication management and administration in line with company policy across the units.
  • To roster staff efficiently and cost effectively & ensure resident needs and statutory requirements are met and that agency use is kept to a minimum.
  • To effectively communicate with senior management any relevant information about the running of the units and between the units of the home to ensure smooth operational delivery.
  • To support the units in maintaining good professional relationships with all external stakeholders.
  • To attend relevant meetings with external stakeholders.
  • To aid in fostering good relationships between the staff within the unit, residents, and their families
  • Contribute to and ensure that mandatory audits are completed as scheduled across the service maintaining regulatory and organisational requirements
  • To roster staff efficiently and cost effectively whilst ensuring resident needs and statutory requirements are met and that agency use is kept to a minimum.
  • To step in when required and run shifts.
  • To ensure that nursing care is carried out and delivered in line with best practise and NMC guidance
  • To clinically supervise nursing staff ensuring that they are working in line with best practice and NMC guidance
About you

The Clinical Unit Coordinator plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of the care home setting. This position requires a compassionate person with excellent organisational and communication skills to support residents, staff and families across the care home site alongside the following:

  • Valid PIN registration with the NMC
  • A suitable leadership qualification (desirable)
  • Previous experience within a management or leadership position within a Residential Care Setting
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent communication and organisational abilities
  • Proficient in computer applications and recording systems
  • Knowledge of relevant regulations and best practice with a care setting
  • Compassionate and empathetic approach to caring for residents
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast paced and team orientated environment
