A leading healthcare provider in Leeds seeks a Band 2 Clinical Support Worker to assist in a dual role involving both clinical support and administrative tasks. The successful candidate will book appointments, support patients and contribute to a busy neurophysiology team. NVQ2 in Health & Social Care is required. Full training will be provided in a dynamic environment.
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 2Clinical Support Worker in the Neurophysiology Department, which is part of theNeurosciences CSU. This post combines aspects of the clinical support workerrole with a band 2 admin role ensuring the applicant receives full training inboth aspects of the role and giving the applicant experience and qualificationsin both. This dual role will allow the postholder to develop skills andexperience in a varied and busy department.
This role will involve booking outpatientappointments, answering the telephone, dealing with queries from otherdepartments, GPs, clinicians and the general public. You will also assist thePatient Services Co-ordinator with any other admin tasks. You will assist theclinicians by chaperoning patients and helping the patients to dress/undress(if required), ensure patients fully understand the test they are having,assist the clinician with medical equipment and stock taking/ordering. Thiswill be a very varied role and full training and support is available.
Theneurophysiology department is an extremely small team, consisting of 4consultant neurophysiologists, 9 physiologists, 2 clinical support workers and3 admin team members. We receive around 8000 referrals per year for variousneurophysiology tests so it is extremely busy. As we are such a small teameveryone works together to ensure the best possible patient journey. The bestthing about working in neurophysiology is the happy atmosphere and thecloseness of the team. We also work very closely with our Neurology admindepartment and help each other when required, which will give the postholdermore experience of working in different units within the Neurosciences CSU.

Thejobholder will be actively involved in providing direct and indirectcompassionate care for patients in support of and supervised by a registeredpractitioner.
Thejobholder will assist in the overall implementation of care as part of themulti professional team. The jobholder is expected to deliver and maintain highstandards of acute and planned care. The jobholder will be skilled in takingappropriate action(s) to achieve the planned outcome.
Thejobholder will contribute to the maintenance of an environment for effectivecare.
Thejobholder will be expected to practice in accordance with Leeds TeachingHospital NHS Trust (LTHT) policies, guidelines, standards and statutoryrequirements and operate within defined competency boundaries.
Thejobholder will work within the department of Clinical Neurophysiology, based atthe LGI site. Some cross site work will also be required.
Thejob holder will also work with the administration team where necessary with anyrelated administration duties.
It may be necessary to complete further specialisedtraining to fit the needs of the neurophysiology department.
