A regional health care provider in East Durham is seeking an experienced Clinical Specialist to enhance clinical services in ADHD. The role involves supervising clinicians, managing complex cases, and liaising with patients and families. Job summary
We are seeking to recruit an enthusiastic and experienced Clinical Specialist into the East Durham community Hub and Intervention team. The successful candidate will support and develop clinical practice and play an integral part within developing the ADHD service for the East Durham area. The successful candidate will also offer consultation and education to partner agencies. The successful candidate will support clinicians within the team with complex clinical cases and liaise with patients and families as appropriate. Candidate must hold registration with relevant professional body (e.g. NMC, GMC, HCPC, Social Work-England). A NMP qualification is also an essential requirement for this post. The successful applicant will have the opportunity to become part of a specialised multi-disciplinary team comprising of Consultant Psychiatrist, Nurses, Social Workers and Clinical Psychologists.
The successful applicant will be responsible for delivering a high standard of clinical leadership to the team; ensuring clinical standards are maintained in the delivery of care across all aspects of the service. The nature of this work requires a calm, consistent approach to some challenging clinical situations alongside a willingness to be compassionate, creative and flexible in delivering clinical care. The successful applicant will be required to contribute to and lead ongoing service development and offer clinical supervision to staff members. The ability to make balanced decisions and use positive risk-taking approaches, whilst managing potentially high-pressured situations is an essential part of this role. Acting as a resource in providing specialist advice, training, guidance and consultation to the team and partner agencies is also an integral aspect of the role. The applicant will be an essential member of the multi-disciplinary team and will be able to facilitate the co-coordination of care on a multi-disciplinary basis to the patients under our care.

Job responsibilities
The Clinical Specialist will take a lead role in delivery of clinical service to the patients and carers we support. This will include supervision of clinicians and playing an active role in clinical decision making along with other clinicians. The post holder will have responsibility for providing clinical leadership to colleagues in assessment, treatment and management of patients. The role will involve identifying potential symptoms of ADHD and Autism, as well as supporting patients with existing diagnosis who are in active treatment.
