Overview

We are pleased to offer an exciting opportunity for a Band 7 Clinical Specialist to join our Scarborough & Ryedale Wellbeing in Mind Team for 6 months.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Support the development of whole‑school or college wellbeing approaches, including policy development, resource creation, campaign support, training, assemblies, and PHSE curriculum.
  2. Provide timely advice and consultation to education staff to build their skills and confidence in supporting student well‑being, both formally and informally.
  3. Undertake direct assessments and interventions for young people in education, using a low‑intensity service model predominantly based on cognitive‑behavioural therapy.

Each function accounts for a third of the team's workload.

The clinical specialist must manage time, prioritise competing demands, build relationships, and work collaboratively with a wide range of partners and stakeholders. The post holder will act as a resource and provide specialist mental health advice, training, guidance, and consultation to staff in educational settings.

The post holder will be part of a local leadership team with Team Managers and Clinical Leads, and will play a lead role in developing clinical services.
