A leading health organization in Leigh on Sea is seeking a Clinical Fellow to join their Rheumatology Team at Southend Hospital. This fixed-term role includes significant commitments in both clinical operations and research activities, aiming to improve patient care and contribute to scholarly publications. The ideal candidate will have a medical background with experience in clinical trials and patient management. This position offers valuable training opportunities, aligning closely with training programs for registrars.
This fixed term post is funded by the Research and Development Department with 70% research commitments and 30 % clinical Rheumatology. The commitments will be clinical and research activity with allotted time for teaching & training. Clinical and Research Duties:

The Clinical Fellow will be part of the Rheumatology Team based at Southend Hospital. All the Rheumatology consultants have research commitments. An active clinical trial unit consisting of 2 research nurses and 1 administrative staff contribute to the research ethic within the department. Although this Job does not have educational approval it will provide training opportunities at the same level as the registrars from East Anglia training programme. It will suit a person wishing to develop subspecialty skills in rheumatology or research. The duties and responsibilities of the fellow can be balanced between service and research commitments to suit the trainee.
