A leading academic healthcare institution in Greater London seeks a Clinical Research Fellow in Neurosurgery. Applications are invited for three Clinical Research Fellow posts in Neurosurgery. These posts are ideally suited to anyone with an interest in surgical technologies such as robotics, artificial intelligence, neurotechnology and simulation and would be suitable for Trust SHO’s or trainees.
Clinical work will be carried out at the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery (NHNN), an internationally renowned hospital for clinical practice and world‑class clinical research in neurosciences. Academic work will be carried out at the Surgical Technology at Queen Square Group (TeQ Group). It is closely associated with NHNN and the UCL Queen Square Institute of Neurology (IoN), Hawkes Institute (surgical innovation centre) and the Francis Crick Institute.
Post holders will work as a trust grade SHO with a split pattern of clinical and research duties (80:20). Clinical duties will include ward rounds, inpatient care and after‑hours on‑call duties. Although not an official training role, training is important and includes:
Fellows will also gain extensive experience of applied translational research in one of several areas, depending on their preference, including pituitary and skull base surgery; neuro‑oncology; vascular surgery; and spinal surgery.
