We are seeking a temporary Clinical Psychologist to provide maternity cover within our Learning Disability and Autism Inpatient Assessment and Treatment Unit. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to a specialist service that is committed to delivering high-quality, person-centred care.

You'll be part of a friendly, motivated multidisciplinary team working collaboratively to support individuals with complex needs. The service is closely integrated with the Intensive Support Team, ensuring continuity of care across inpatient and community settings.

You'll also be involved in quality improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing patient experience and outcomes.

This position is open to a newly qualified psychologist starting at band 7.

Main duties of the job

The main duties of this role are to be part of an innovative, AHP led team delivering rehabilitation interventions in the community. There will be the opportunity for service development and evaluation. You will undertake psychological assessments, formulations and interventions as part of the MDT. There will also be an opportunity to develop group interventions and to design and deliver staff training both in-house and to other teams both within and outside of the Trust as appropriate.

This post would suit a qualified clinical psychologist with an interest in working with people with complex psychosis as well as an interest in service development. Newly qualified clinical psychologists are welcome to apply.

Qualifications
  • Post-graduate degree (or its equivalent if trained prior to 1996) in clinical psychology or counselling, accredited by BPS
  • Registered as a practitioner psychologist with the Health and care Professions Council (HCPC)
  • Supervisor training, to be a supervisor of doctoral programme clinical psychology trainees or willing to undertake training
  • Evidence of CPD in one or more additional specialised areas of psychological practice
  • Theory and practice of specialised psychological interventions (assessment and / or therapiest)
Experience
  • Experience working as a qualified clinical/counselling psychologist (Band 7) and supervise trainee clinical psychologistable to evidence appropriate knowledge and experience in practice to enable the post holder to clinically supervise trainee clinical psychologist
  • Experience of working with a range of complex and challenging behaviours and exercising full clinical responsibility for psychological treatment
