Overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated and enthusiastic Clinical Nurse Specialist to join the Inpatient Pain Team at Basildon Trust. You will work collaboratively with the Nurse Consultant, lead nurse, Nurse specialists and Consultant Anesthetist to provide a Trust wide service to in-patients with acute and/or chronic pain.

Responsibilities and Requirements
  • You must possess strong leadership and organisational skills to support the delivery of evidence-based pain management within the hospital. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills and an ability to work autonomously, as well as part of a team, is essential. You will have experience in efficiently and effectively managing a caseload of patients with complex health and social care needs.
  • Relevant experience of managing patients requiring acute and/or chronic pain management throughout the hospital setting.
  • Excellent clinical assessment and decision making skills to effectively plan and evaluate pain management treatment plans.
  • Effective teaching skills and experience of delivering formal and informal education to both patients and the interdisciplinary team.
