About The Opportunity

Are you passionate about psychological wellbeing and ready to lead a team making a real difference to the lives of colleagues from Staffordshire Police and Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service?

We’re looking for an experienced and innovative leader to head up our Counselling and Welfare Team based in our Occupational Health Team, delivering psychological services to both Staffordshire Police and Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service.

This is a unique opportunity to shape the future of psychological wellbeing in a dynamic, fast-paced environment where you will make a tangible difference to the wellbeing of those who serve our communities.

What You’ll Be Doing
  • Leading, mentoring, and developing a dedicated team of counsellors and welfare officers.
  • Providing expert clinical oversight and support for complex cases.
  • Driving innovation in psychological health and wellbeing initiatives.
  • Monitoring and improving service quality through data, audits, and best practice.
  • Managing budgets and external provider contracts to ensure cost-effective, high-quality care.
  • Overseeing psychological screening programmes and implementing national wellbeing standards.
  • Collaborating with colleagues in Occupational health and wider teams to ensure a holistic approach to employee wellbeing.
