A healthcare organization is looking for a Deputy Ward Manager for their acute female ward in London. The ideal candidate should be a registered nurse with prior inpatient experience, capable of working all shifts and possessing knowledge in care planning and risk assessment. Responsibilities include leading a nursing team, engaging with service users, and providing supervision. This position offers a supportive environment to aid patients experiencing acute mental health issues and includes a High-Cost Area Supplement.
A permanent opportunity has arisen on Kahlo ward, a 19‑bed female acute ward, for a Deputy Ward Manager. We are looking for an astute, dynamic, and compassionate registered nurse and welcome a diversity of skills and knowledge. Kahlo ward provides a safe and supportive environment to aid patients (ages 18‑65) in the boroughs of Havering, Waltham Forest, Redbridge, and B&D who are experiencing an acute episode of mental‑health illness and may be at high risk of harm towards themselves or others.
The post holder must have inpatient experience—preferably in an acute ward—and will join a multi‑disciplinary team dedicated to high‑quality, patient‑centred care. The ward’s leadership team includes Staff Nurses, Band 6 Clinical Leads & Deputy Ward Managers, a Ward Manager, a Modern Matron, and a Matron.
Starting with NELFT, new starters are welcomed and inducted into the Trust. All new starters will join the Trust on the first Monday of each month and will undertake a comprehensive induction of up to two weeks, including mandatory training, systems training, and the allocation of equipment. New starters will also meet the executive team, senior managers, and attend drop‑in sessions focusing on engagement, health and wellbeing, and key processes. The induction will be held at our head office in Rainham, Essex.
Probationary Period: This post will be subject to a probationary period. Internal applicants are exempt unless they are currently part way through a probationary period or a bank member of staff.
High‑Cost Area Supplement: This post also attracts payment for a High‑Cost Area Supplement of 15% of the basic salary (minimum payment of £4,551 and a maximum payment of £5,735), pro‑rata for part‑time staff.
