The forensic CAMHS team is a small specialist community service for young people under 18 with mental health concerns and high-risk behaviors. Young people may or may not be in contact with the youth justice or care systems. The service collaborates with various agencies within Thames Valley (Oxfordshire, Buckinghamshire, Berkshire) and beyond, including psychiatrists, psychologists, and nurses, forming part of wider CAMHS services.

We offer support services to professionals and facilitate access to other CAMHS teams, including:

  • Advice
  • Case consultation
  • Assessment (joint or otherwise)
  • Case supervision
  • Training
  • Specialist interventions

The role involves working with colleagues to support service provision across Thames Valley, focusing on consultation, assessment, and treatment. The role will support psychological thinking within the team, work with an assistant psychologist, and supervise their work.

This position has been funded to address increasing neurodevelopmental needs among our clients. The successful candidate will lead neurodevelopmental testing and assessments (e.g., WISC/WAIS) and develop pathways across the service area. Experience in these areas is desirable.

The ideal applicant will have excellent interpersonal and clinical skills to thrive within a multidisciplinary team and work with complex patient groups and their families. Opportunities for professional development are available.
