A local government authority in Woodbridge is seeking a Climate Change & Sustainability Project Support Officer. In this role, you will support crucial projects under the Environmental Impact Strategy, engage with communities, and assist with communication initiatives. We currently have an opportunity to join East Suffolk Council's Climate Change & Sustainability team as a Climate Change & Sustainability Project Support Officer.
The Climate Change & Sustainability Project Support Officer will work as part of the Climate Change & Sustainability team to support the delivery of projects within our Environmental Impact Strategy. They will also provide administration and communications support for our wider sustainability activities.
We can offer a broad introduction to how climate change, sustainability and nature restoration is being addressed by the public sector. The officer will have the unique opportunity to support in our response to the climate and nature emergencies, in addition to helping enable those who live and work in our district to play their part too.
This role requires someone with strong administrative, IT and analytical skills. Although a formal qualification is not required, we are seeking someone who can demonstrate a commitment to their own learning and development with a passion for nature and tackling climate change.
You will be working as part of a small team, with clear guidance and direction, however there will be a requirement to work autonomously and under your own initiative on allocated workstreams and projects.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, are also key to this role.
