Client Procurement Manager – University of Birmingham

At Avendra International we're looking for a dynamic Client Procurement Manager to lead procurement services for the University of Birmingham and other key clients. This hybrid role blends strategic thinking, stakeholder engagement, and hands-on procurement expertise to deliver best-in-class service.

? Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the dedicated procurement lead for UoB, managing supply chain, purchasing, and e-procurement systems (Pi).
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, ensuring transparency and performance.
  • Provide on-site support at UoB two days per week, with flexibility for events and projects.
  • Deliver training on Pi systems and support technical tenders with university teams.
  • Identify growth opportunities, benchmark pricing, and negotiate competitive supplier agreements.
  • Lead procurement strategy discussions and ensure successful supplier mobilisations.
  • Drive client retention and intensification strategies, including expansion into non-food categories.

? What You Bring:

  • Account management experience in a foodservice or procurement environment.
  • Strong commercial and financial acumen.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
  • High proficiency in Excel and analytical thinking.
  • Ability to manage priorities and influence stakeholders.
  • Comfortable with hybrid working and UK travel.
