Job Overview

York Teaching Hospital Facilities Management (YTHFM) are looking for approachable and flexible Cleaning & Catering Operatives to join our team at Scarborough General Hospital. Experience is not necessary as full training will be given, but a willingness to learn and develop your skills is essential. The main function of this post is to participate in maintaining levels of cleanliness throughout a designated area, and providing a catering service.

Responsibilities
  • Ensuring that the ward/area you are assigned to is cleaned in accordance with the work schedule for that area, including the use of cleaning machinery and lifting items.
  • Undertaking specialist cleaning as required under the guidance of the Facilities Supervisor and/or Nurse in Charge and/or Infection Prevention Department.
  • Assisting with the distribution of meals to wards.
  • Plating up of meals, ensuring the dietary requirements of patients are met.
  • Making and distributing hot drinks, cleaning and refilling water jugs.
