A local authority council in Scotland is seeking a Cleaning Assistant to provide professional cleaning services across school and nursery buildings. An exciting opportunity has arisen within Infrastructure delivery, Stirling Council for a supply Cleaning Assistant.
The post will involve providing professional cleaning service on an as and when required basis and paid at Stirling Council Grade 1. Shift times may vary slightly between 3pm and 8pm Monday to Friday depending on the building you are supporting on the day. Generally, you will work across several school/nursery buildings within the space of your week however where we have an absence or vacancy you will be expected to remain in a fixed location for a longer period of time.
Perform cleaning duties across assigned school/nursery buildings, ensuring compliance with health and safety standards. Use cleaning machinery including electric buffing machines, scrubber dryers and vacuum cleaners. Clean surfaces to head height and work effectively both as part of a team and independently.
Applicants should be capable of lifting heavy items and be willing to undertake training to enable use of Stirling Council online training and human resources IT applications. Personal protective equipment, tools and training will be provided. A basic working knowledge of IT is required. The successful candidate will be required to be a member of the Protecting Vulnerable Groups Scheme (PVG) for children.
