Job description

We are a dynamic not-for-profit organisation and Centre, running counselling, psychotherapy and professional training, personal development courses and a range of therapy practices to enhance mental and psychological wellbeing.

A small, dynamic and busy charity, our Centre is open all year, excluding public Bank Holidays and term‑break weekends. We are located a short walk from Kings Cross, St Pancras and Camden stations in London, close to Regents Canal.

Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced part‑time, weekend cleaner/caretaker to work evenings, 2 to 3 days per week, to ensure our Centre is kept clean and tidy to a high standard, secure and well‑maintained. This is a permanent role, and applicants must be available to work at minimum Friday and Sunday evenings during term times throughout the year. Exact dates and hours will be discussed upon application.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintaining cleanliness and hygiene across all Centre areas.
  • Performing routine tasks and ensuring the facility is well‑maintained.
  • Occupying a lone‑working role, safe and responsible at all times.
Required Experience & Skills
  • Previous experience in cleaning, facilities or maintenance and lone working.
  • Excellent attention to detail, reliability, strong work ethic and teamwork.
  • Ability to work Friday and Sunday evenings, with additional availability for weekday evening work.
  • A good level of physical fitness and the ability to lift and manage equipment.
  • Good level of English.
  • Excellent work references.
  • NI number and right to work in the UK.
Ideal Candidate
  • Someone with experience of lone working or working in a similar environment.
  • Local Camden resident.
  • You’ll be reliable, pro‑active, conscientious, and able to work independently, as well as part of a team.

This role is part of a job‑share with our current weekday cleaner/caretaker, so there is opportunity for additional shifts and cover during year. This mainly lone‑working role requires regular lifting, so a good level of physical fitness and ability to lift and manage equipment is a must.
