Overview

Here at Serco we have an opportunity for a Cleaner to join our close-knit team working in our Asylum Accommodation and Support Services based in Nottingham. AASC offers a range of improvements, with particular focus on assisting individuals through the asylum system.

Responsibilities
  • Provide cleaning services in Nottingham and surrounding areas with scope varying by business need; a valid driver’s licence and willingness/ability to travel within the region and occasionally within the UK is essential.
  • Clean a number of properties using a variety of cleaning materials and equipment; report any cleaning appliance faults to the relevant teams.
  • Ensure compliance with Health and Safety procedures and regulations (COSHH) and be competent in the use of all chemicals and cleaning materials provided.
  • Work to tight timescales; dispose of waste from properties; replenish stock; assist other geographical areas when required; use appropriate equipment to clean carpets; work both individually and as part of a team.
What you need to do the job

You will be self-motivated, have experience of cleaning households / large accommodation, experienced in managing your time effectively and a willingness to work overtime in line with business needs. This role requires excellent communication skills both verbal and written due to the variety of accountabilities which also include the following:

  • Working to tight timescales
  • Disposing of waste from properties
  • Replenishing stock
  • Assisting other geographical areas when required
  • Using the appropriate equipment to clean carpets
  • Working individually and working as part of a team

Due to the nature of the role, Security Clearance at Counter Terrorism Check level and Criminal Record Bureau checks are required (all offers of employment are subject to security clearance checks and approval by the Home Office).
