Job summary

A public educational authority in Ballyclare is seeking a cleaner to undertake various cleaning duties at Ballyclare High School. The ideal candidate has prior cleaning experience, is knowledgeable about Health and Safety regulations, and can operate commercial cleaning tools. This is a permanent part-time role with a competitive salary of £13.6288 - £14.2897 per hour.

Qualifications

• Minimum of three months’ demonstrable work experience in a cleaning role.
• Required training under Health and Safety legislation.
• One year’s experience in a cleaning role outside the home environment.

Responsibilities

• Sweep, mop, and clean floors using appropriate equipment.
• Remove stains from carpets using suitable cleaning methods.
• Clean toilets and showers, including fixtures.
• Dust and wash ledges, walls, and internal surfaces.
• Empty and clean internal litter bins.

Job description

Undertake, as part of a team, the cleaning of any area within the premises, designated by the line manager.

Responsibilities

• Sweep, suction clean, mop, dry buff, spray clean, spray wax, machine scrub and dry, strip and re-polish floors using appropriate equipment.
• Clean and remove stains of soft floor surfaces (carpets/matting) using the appropriate cleaning method.
• Clean toilet and shower area including the fixtures and fittings.
• Clean, wash and dust ledges, walls, fixtures, fittings and internal surfaces up to 3.35M. Polishing furniture where appropriate.
• Empty and clean internal litter bins and remove litter to the designated collection points.

Skills and Qualifications

• Have a minimum of three months’ demonstrable working experience in a cleaning role.
• To meet the statutory obligations under Health and Safety legislation the successful applicant may be required to undertake training as necessary & provided by the EA cleaning service.
• One year’s experience of cleaning outside home environment.
• Demonstrable experience of using a range of commercial cleaning tools (e.g. buffing machinery).
