Masterclass Education is delighted to be working with a wonderful specialist primary school in Portsmouth that provides a supportive and nurturing environment for pupils aged 4-11 with a range of learning difficulties.

The Role

• Supporting children aged 4-11 with a variety of learning difficulties, including Autism, global developmental delay, and speech and language needs
• Assisting the class teacher in delivering fun, engaging, and differentiated lessons that meet each child's individual learning goals
• Providing one‑to‑one or small group support to help children develop key skills and confidence
• Using strategies such as visual supports, sensory play, and communication aids (training provided if needed)
• Encouraging positive behaviour, independence, and self‑esteem in every pupil
• Supporting children during lessons, playtimes, and transitions throughout the school day
• Promoting a caring, structured, and inclusive classroom environment

What We're Looking For

• Experience working with children, young people, or vulnerable individuals (school or care settings welcome)
• A calm, patient, and empathetic approach
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
• A positive attitude and genuine enthusiasm for supporting children with additional needs
