Job summary

A recruitment agency is seeking a Class 2 Driver for night shifts in Hardingstone. The ideal candidate will hold a valid HGV LGV Class 1 or 2 licence and a Driver Certificate of Professional Competence. Class 2 Driver (Night Shift)

Location: Northampton

Salary: £38,651.89 + £3,900 night allowance per annum

Contract: 45 hours per week

Schedule: Monday to Friday nights, starting between 00:00 - 05:00

Description

Join our team as a Class 2 Driver and play a key role in delivering essential goods safely and on time. You’ll be responsible for transporting caged and wheeled dollies to stores and NDCs, ensuring accurate delivery, proper offloading, and completion of all paperwork. You’ll also collect agreed waste or cages for return, helping us maintain efficiency and sustainability.

How will you contribute?
  • Ensure accurate and timely movement and delivery of customer products.
  • Follow safe working practices to protect yourself and others at all times.
  • Secure trailer loads to prevent damage during transit.
  • Deliver excellent customer service and take ownership of any delivery‑related issues.
  • Complete multi‑drop deliveries within the agreed time window safely.
  • Report any vehicle defects promptly to the Transport Office.
  • Attend all essential training required for the driver role.
  • Provide a time‑critical delivery service in line with targets agreed with the customer and Wincanton.
What will you bring?
  • Valid HGV LGV Class 1 or 2 licence.
  • Driver Certificate of Professional Competence (DCPC) card.
  • Digital tachograph card.
  • No more than 6 points on your licence.
  • Previous retail and commercial driving experience (desirable).
