Overview

The salary for this role is £12.40 per hour. The festive season at Boots is a busy time, and this role is at the heart of the action as a Christmas Customer Assistant. You will greet customers, offer product and gift advice, and help create a memorable shopping experience that encourages repeat visits.

This is a temporary contract with potential for a permanent role later, depending on local opportunities.

About the role

You will work in a Boots store and report to the Assistant or Store Manager. Your responsibilities include:

  • Customer Interaction: Offer thoughtful advice, recommend products, and highlight offers to ensure a positive shopping experience.
  • Till Operation: Assist with purchases at the counter and support self-checkout, bringing energy and efficiency to transactions.
  • Stock Management: Keep shelves full so customers can find what they need during the busy season.
  • Store Presentation: Ensure areas of the store look their best.
  • Online order support: May assist with deliveries, picking, and packing for online orders as needed.
What you'll need to have

Full training is provided. Essential skills or experience include:

  • Available to work Bank Holidays including Black Friday week and weekend, Cyber Monday, Christmas Eve, Boxing Day, New Year’s Day.
  • Customer Service Skills: Comfortable approaching customers and providing a personalised experience.
  • Operations Ready: Ability to balance customer care with daily shopfloor and operational tasks.
  • Tech-Savvy: Ability to learn and use new technology, including handheld devices, tills, and self-checkouts.
  • Team Player: Collaborative, one-team mindset to help achieve store goals.
  • Physical Stamina: Ability to stand, walk, and lift for shifts.
  • Brand Ambassador: Enthusiasm for Boots ethos, products, and services.
