Wirral Borough Council have now regionalised with other local authorities including Liverpool, Sefton and Knowsley to become ‘Adoption in Merseyside’ (AiM) to provide a dedicated Adoption service in the Merseyside Region. Adoption in Merseyside is a newly formed shared service bringing together 4 Local Authority Adoption Teams and this is in line with the Department for Education regionalising adoption services throughout the UK. The post is funded by Wirral on a secondment arrangement to Knowsley Borough Council who are the host authority. We are seeking applications from experienced practitioners who are confident in completing assessments for adoption support, providing support to both adopters and children with a plan of adoption. The service provides and delivers a quality service for prospective adopters including robust assessments and analysis, preparation training and on-going support.
